Daytile is a photo diary for iOS that gathers each day’s photos on a calendar. Keep 1–3 photos and a short note of up to 100 characters for each day, then turn the month into a calendar image to save or share.

Before you write to us
Including the following in your email helps us look into the problem:
- App version (Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Daytile)
- iOS version (Settings → General → About)

Frequently asked questions
My photos don’t show up
- Check that Daytile can access your photos in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Daytile.
- If it’s set to “None,” the photos for each date won’t appear. Choose “Limited Access” or “Full Access,” or pick photos with the system photo picker.
- Daytile shows photos taken on the selected date. Photos saved on a different day, or without capture time information, may not appear on that date.
- If the Favorites filter is on, only favorite photos are shown. Try turning it off.
Only some of my photos appear. How do I change photo access?
With “Limited Access,” Daytile sees only the photos you’ve picked.
- Change which photos are visible: In Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Daytile, tap “Edit Selected Photos” (or a similarly named option) to add or remove photos.
- Show all photos: Choose “Full Access” on the same screen.
- Even without full access, you can add any photo to your diary with the system photo picker.
Menu names and locations may differ slightly depending on your iOS version.
I can’t import photos from iCloud
If you use “Optimize iPhone Storage,” an original may be stored only in iCloud and needs to be downloaded through Apple’s Photos features. Please check that:
- You’re connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data
- Low Power Mode and Low Data Mode are off
- Your iPhone has enough free storage
- The same photo opens normally in the Photos app
If it doesn’t open in the Photos app either, the issue may be with iCloud Photos.
Saving an entry or exporting an image fails
- Check your free storage (Settings → General → iPhone Storage). Monthly images are created as 2400×2400 JPEG files.
- If the photos in your diary are stored only in iCloud, see “I can’t import photos from iCloud” above.
- Fully close and reopen the app, and make sure you have the latest version from the App Store.
- If it still fails, email us with the details listed in “Before you write to us.”
How do I allow saving to my photo library?
Saving a monthly calendar image to your photo library needs permission to add photos. Allow it when prompted the first time you save, or later choose “Add Photos Only” or “Full Access” in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Daytile.
You can also tap Share instead of saving to send the image to another app.
My daily reminder doesn’t arrive
- Check that the daily reminder is turned on in Daytile’s Settings.
- Check that “Allow Notifications” is on in iPhone Settings → Notifications → Daytile.
- A Focus (such as Do Not Disturb) or Scheduled Summary can delay or hide notifications.
Reminders are scheduled on your device and never include your photos or notes.
How do I turn off usage data sharing?
Turn off “Share usage information” in Daytile’s Settings. After that, analytics collection stops and the analytics data on your device is reset. Data already sent to Google is not automatically deleted. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Does deleting an entry delete my original photos?
No. Deleting an entry in Daytile deletes only that entry and the photo copies saved inside the app. The originals in your photo library stay where they are.
The reverse is also true: deleting an original from your photo library does not remove the copy or the diary entry already saved in Daytile.
What happens if I change devices or delete the app? Can I recover deleted entries?
- Daytile has no cloud sync or backup/restore of its own. Your entries are stored only on the device you’re using.
- Deleting the app may delete your entries. Because the developer doesn’t keep your entries on a server, they can’t be restored for you.
- App data may be included in your iPhone’s iCloud Backup or computer backup, but that is an Apple feature. Daytile can’t guarantee what is backed up or restored.
- Entries you delete in the app can’t be undone, because there is no trash or recovery feature. Please double-check before deleting.
How is exporting a monthly image different from a backup?
Exporting a monthly image creates a picture for viewing and sharing (a 2400×2400 JPEG) of your month. It can’t be loaded back into Daytile to restore your diary, so it doesn’t work as a backup.
